Red Flag days at Lido le Morge -at the beach in Torino di Sangro

Red flag days

Yesterday and the day before (this was written in July!) there was a lot of wind at Lido di Morge. Beach Lido di Morge was having the red flags up. It is a prohibition to go for a swim deeper than your waist. Lifeguards - two young boys - were monitoring the sea view faithfully. They stared at the three beautiful Finnish girls - two blondes and one brunette - from the beach relentlessly keeping their megaphones in hands, in case that there would be a need to call on young ladies closer to the beach. One hundred meters away far deeperthere was the lady - a bit older one - free to go drowning. Lifeguards here look sometimes a bit racistic to the older ladies...!

Well, the wind didin´t really brought forth waves of foam at the top, and the waves didn´t come over the waterbreaker, the water was almost calm ... despite the wind.

I laid-back down on the beach on a sun mat, and I put my bag on top of it to protect it from the wind and sand. In half an hour my skin had a smooth layer of sand onto its surface. Sand floated on the half-empty beach wriggling like a snake towards the beach walls. The beach was almost deserted, just a group of friends and families were socializing in a beach bar.

 

We bought some ice creams. Soft ice creams were inside white plastic tubes and were pressed through the machines to the cones. We had there to choose among the traditional flavors of strawberries and douple chocholates addition to double kiss (Bacio , chocolate - nut mixture ), and the devil & angel. In fact, I myself bought a Mojito icicle. On its paper there was written, that it is not sold to anyone who is under the age of 18, because it contains rum.

Beach Coffee shops are renting sun beds and parasols, and of course they also sell food and drinks, but also coins to take a shower. Cold shower is free, but warm costs 50 cents. On a day like this it's worth paying, for peel off the salt and sand from your skin properly .
